Rub the product between your hands and apply on soaking wet hair.
Use the “raking/praying hands method” to evenly spread the product throughout your strands.
Select your desired styling method (scrunch/ fingercurls/ shingle) to enhance and define.
Air dry or diffuse. Avoid touching your hair excessively while drying as this will create frizz. Once completely dry, scrunch to 'break the light cast' using an oil or serum to make your hair soft and bouncy.

"This gel is so hydrating but when it comes to hold , I feel it does not have that much of hold when i use it on its own …If i pair it with Curlsmith Fragrance free strong hold gel then I get the most defined and hydrated curls ever…I am even sharing the pic of my hair with both the gels applied"
"I had used the orange label Soufflé for years and loved the product. I had recently purchased the rebranded blue label product and was greatly disappointed that Curlsmith changed the formula even though it was stated they had not. The second I opened the jar, I immediately noticed the texture was different and more runny/watery. So much so that I stirred it up thinking the liquid had risen to the top but it did not help. Next came the performance. I scrunched it into soaking wet hair and the gel started foaming in my hands. It has never done that before. I used to get a hard cast with the orange label Soufflé with results that lasted. But I got a very soft cast with the blue label version and feels gritty. My waves are falling flat as I sit here writing this and don’t anticipate my results lasting. With the orange label soufflé being one of the best sellers with so many 5 star reviews, I am really surprised on the business decision to change the formula. I will need to look for another company’s gel to use. So disappointed. Bring back the original formula please."
"The Curl Smith Curl Defining Styling Souffle is not the same. I have gray hair and as anyone with gray hair knows it can have a mind of its own and sometimes just downright disrespectful. I still have a jar (orange label) and it holds my curls so well, I can get at least 5-7 days. I bought a 16oz bottle thinking it would work the same and it does not. I can't get past day 2 without my gray hairs and curls looking dry and frizzy. I on the hunt for new product for this disrespectful gray hair. (and I love my gray hair)"

"Texture is a lot lighter. Its not the same as it used to be. My hair comes out dry and frizzy now even when I am adding more gel. I never needed another product. It wasnt like that when it was in the orange label. Now its blue. Looking else where for a long lasting styling product."

I was pleasantly surprised by several other Curlsmith products - my hair felt smooth and clean, so I thought I’d try a styling product. I struggle with texture sensitivity so I’ve often found difficultly with styling products, but this one is nice. It keeps my curls looking bouncy, and I’m looking forward to trying others as I go.
